AL Fugitives Arrested Following Vehicle Crash in Evansville, IN

Birmingham, AL – The Alabama fugitives who have been on the run since April 29 were apprehended Monday in Evansville, Indiana, following a brief vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash.
Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Vanderbaugh County Sheriff's office were following leads in Evansville when they saw former corrections officer Vicky White and escaped inmate Casey White in an older model Cadillac on U.S. Route 41. Indiana State Police and Evansville Police Department also assisted in the arrest.
Law enforcement officers were able to disable the vehicle at the intersection of Baumgart and Birch Drive. Casey White surrendered and stated his "wife" shot herself. EMTs were on scene and provided first aid to Vicky White and Casey White.
Both were transported to a local hospital where Vicky White succumbed to her injuries.
The U.S. Marshals-led Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force in the Northern District of Alabama with its primary office in Birmingham. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Huntsville Police Department, Madison County Sheriff's Office, Alabama Probation and Parole, and the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office.
The U.S. Marshals Service Major Case Fugitive Program prioritizes the investigation and apprehension of high-profile offenders who are considered to be some of the country's most dangerous fugitives. These offenders tend to be career criminals with histories of violence or whose instant offense(s) pose a significant threat to public safety.
