Philadelphia Arson Fugitive Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Philadelphia, PA — Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Darren Arnold, 37, for arson and related charges, at approximately 12:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of Oregon avenue in Philadelphia PA. The arrest was made in relation to multiple August 2022 fires which occurred in the 100 block of N. 59th street. During the course of an arson investigation, more than 150 milk jugs filled with gasoline were found. A warrant was issued for Arnold on August 4th and the fugitive case was then delegated to the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
On the morning of September 14th, members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force developed information Arnold was in the area of 10th street and Oregon Avenue in Philadelphia. Investigators conducted surveillance in the area and at approximately 12:20pm, Arnold was observed and arrested on Oregon Avenue without incident. Arnold was then transported to the Philadelphia Police Southwest Detective Division for processing.
This fugitive investigation was a joint effort by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, Philadelphia Police Department, and the Philadelphia Fire Department Fire Marshals Office.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General Agents, Chester Police Department, and Bucks County Sheriffs.
