Memorial Service for Thomas M. “Tommy” Weeks Jr.

For immediate release

Members of the news media will be allowed limited access to the memorial services for slain Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas M. “Tommy” Weeks Jr., who was fatally shot by a wanted fugitive April 29, 2024. A designated area inside the arena will be available for reporters and camera operators. A U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) photographer will provide official photographs to the media. No media interviews with family members or guests will be allowed.

Bojangles Coliseum

Charlotte, NC 28205
(The memorial service will be livestreamed at www.justice.gov/live and at www.wsoctv.com.)

NOTE: 
All media must present a government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials.  Media will be guided to appropriate staging areas within the coliseum; space is limited. All camera operators and equipment must be screened at 7:30 a.m. All other media must be set by 9:30 a.m. Media will be directed to designated parking areas. Physical parking spaces will be limited.
