Attempted Murder Suspect Flees from Memphis to Texas

Memphis, TN – Isadore McKnight ran all the way from Memphis, TN to Ft. Worth, TX but couldn't outrun the U.S. Marshals Service.

On 2/7/2020 Kameron Leavy was shot twice near the 2000 block of Blakewood Place, Memphis TN while an unknown male was robbing him. The suspect was later identified as Isadore McKnight. Warrants were issued for the arrest of McKnight for Attempted First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, and Employing a Firearm to commit a Felony.

Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Memphis were able to track the fugitive to a location in Ft. Worth TX. Investigators with the North Texas Fugitive Task Force went to that location and had to breach the door in order to take the fugitive into custody. McKnight was taken into custody without further incident. A handgun was also recovered at the scene.

At the time of this release McKnight is awaiting extradition.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff's Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, ATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
