Fugitive of the Week From January 15 Arrested After Foot Chase

Concord, NH – Late yesterday, Travis Truell, 35 years-of-age, was arrested in the 200 block of Lake Street in Manchester, New Hampshire after a brief foot chase. Mr. Truell was being sought on a State of New Hampshire Parole Warrant. Truell was on parole as a result of being found guilty and sentenced in connection with an armed robbery offense.

Mr. Truell had been featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" on July 3, 2019. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster's Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week" is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.

As a result of this feature, the U.S. Marshals Service was contacted with information from numerous tipsters advising Mr. Truell was in Manchester, New Hampshire. This information as well as hard work by the Officers/Deputies involved pointed investigators to a vehicle Treull was known to drive. Members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force were able to locate the vehicle and attempt to stop it on Cedar Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. Mr. Truell jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to run from Members of the New Hampshire Task Force. Mr. Truell surrendered peacefully when he realized he could not outrun Members of the Task Force.

Truell was transported to the Hillsborough House of Corrections for processing, and holding pending his hearing in front of the New Hampshire State Parole Board.

This arrest was made with the cooperative support of several members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including, members from the Belknap, Hillsborough, Rockingham and Strafford County Sheriff's Offices, the Federal Protective Service, Greenfield Police Department, along with deputy U.S. Marshals.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 7,908 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2019). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
