Task Force Arrests Man After Standoff

For immediate release

Columbus, OH – United States Marshal Peter Tobin is pleased to announce that Brian Lee, 38, was arrested on November 25, 2020 in Marengo, OH with the assistance of the Morrow County Sheriff's Office. Lee was wanted by the Columbus Police Department on a warrant issued on November 14, 2020, from the Franklin County Municipal Court charging Lee with Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence, Assault, Aggravated Menacing, and Domestic Violence - Threats. These charges stem from an alleged firearm assault in the Columbus area.

The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) adopted the fugitive investigation on November 18, 2020 at the request of the Columbus Police Department. Investigators arrested Lee after a short standoff in the 300 block of Country Road 218 after Lee refused to comply with a court issued arrest warrant. Lee was then transported to the Morrow County Jail by investigators.

U.S. Marshal Tobin stated, "the longstanding partnership between the Columbus Division of Police, Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, along with the resources of the Ohio State Highway Patrol resulted in the suspect being safely taken into custody."

Columbus Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team is a fugitive-focused, U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state and federal authorities including the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Division of Police, Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Reynoldsburg Division of Police, Lancaster Police Department, Delaware County Probation, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, United States Secret Service and the U.S. Attorney's Office.
