New Hampshire U.S. Marshals Fugitive of the Week Captured by Saco Maine Police

Concord, NH – A short time ago, the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force received word from the Saco Maine Police Department that this week’s "Fugitive of the Week," Hunter Edward Eaton, was just arrested.

Hunter Eaton, 21 years-of-age, who was known to have ties in both the Rochester, NH and the Sanford, ME areas, was featured this past Wednesday as the "Fugitive of the Week." Mr. Eaton was being sought on multiple arrest warrants in New Hampshire including a Strafford County arrest warrant for failing to appear on charges involving the theft of multiple firearms; as well as a Rockingham County warrant for bail violations on an ongoing burglary case. Additionally, Eaton has list of in-state warrants issued by the Rochester and Somersworth, New Hampshire Police Departments.

As part of the search for Mr. Eaton, he was featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" this past Wednesday. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, The Rochester & Lebanon Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The "Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week" was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.

This afternoon, it was officers from the Saco Maine Police Department that responded to a call for some juveniles drinking in a parking lot of a store on Main Street in Saco. At this location, the only adult present was an individual who provided his name as ‘Hunter Fagan’, which is a known alias used by Hunter Edward Eaton. Through further investigation, the Saco officers were able to positively identify Mr. Eaton and arrest him without incident on his multiple outstanding arrest warrants. Eaton was booked into the York County Jail, where he will be held without bail as a fugitive from justice on his outstanding New Hampshire warrants. After court in Maine, Eaton will be returned to New Hampshire to deal with his many outstanding criminal cases.

U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said, 'The "Fugitive of the Week" program is far-reaching, and we are happy that many officers in the New England area actively seek out and arrest these fugitives on a very regular basis.' Willard continued, "We are very thankful to the officers of the Saco Police Department for doing an excellent investigation and safely taking Mr. Eaton into custody."

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
