U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrest Father on Murder Charges Related to the Homicide of a 4-Year Old Child

Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Tyler McMillion on murder charges related to the homicide of a 4-year-old child.

On February 28, the Madison County Grand Jury returned indictments on Tyler McMillion on charges of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Child Neglect, Reckless Homicide, Leaving Child Unattended in Motor Vehicle (two counts), and Child Neglect. These charges and subsequent arrest originated from an August 21, 2021, incident where McMillion allegedly left his two children, ages four and two, unattended in a vehicle in Jackson, Tenn., which resulted in the death of the 4-year-old child. This incident was investigated by the Jackson Police Department.

The fugitive case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson. On the same day the indictments were returned, Deputy Marshals and Task Force Officers went to a residence in the 6000 block of Graball Drive in Milan, Tenn., and took McMillion into custody without incident. He was transported to the Madison County Jail.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency Task Force in the Western District of Tennessee. The Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Correction Special Agents from the Apprehension and Enforcement Unit. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
