U.S. Marshals Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect

Bolivar, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested, Terrecus Hamilton, 18, in Jackson, TN. Hamilton was wanted by the Bolivar Police Department for attempted first degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
On December 26, 2024, around 1:00 a.m., Bolivar police responded to a shooting at the intersection of Water Street and Jefferson Street. A vehicle occupied by four people was struck gunfire. A male driver was injured and airlifted to a Memphis hospital. Bolivar Investigators identified Terrecus Hamilton as a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest on January 2, 2025.
On January 14, deputy marshals and task force officers tracked Hamilton to a residence on Coach Drive in Jackson. After a brief standoff, Hamilton surrendered to marshals. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex with a hold placed for Bolivar.
The Jackson Police Department responded to the scene and conducted a search of the residence. They recovered two handguns, one of which was stolen, and a shotgun.
The U.S. Marshals Service Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, and Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis and Jackson Police Officers, Tennessee Department of Correction Special Agents and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Since 2021, the TRVFTF has captured approximately 3,000 violent offenders and sexual predators.
