U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Captures Minnesota Attempted Homicide Suspect

Pittsburgh, PA – U.S. Marshal Stephen Eberle, Western District of Pennsylvania, announces the arrest of fugitive Theodore Jaymes, on December 11, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Theodore Jaymes is charged by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office with 2nd Degree Attempted Murder. These charges stem from a shooting incident that took place on the Light Rail Train near Western and University Avenues in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a result of this shooting, a female passenger was struck multiple times in the leg.

The U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force received a request from the U.S. Marshals Office in St. Paul Minnesota and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance in locating and apprehending Jaymes. Through their investigation, the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force developed information that Jaymes may be staying in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh. On December 11, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Task Force members arrested Jaymes without incident at the 5400 block of Baywood Street in the City of Pittsburgh.

The arrest of this fugitive is the direct result of the cooperative investigative efforts between, U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, the Allegheny County Police Department, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, the Pennsylvania Attorney Generals Office, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

The main objective of the Fugitive Task Force is to locate and arrest those fugitives charged with committing violent crimes, drug trafficking, sex offensives, and other serious felonies. Nationally, the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices and are comprised of 85 local fugitive task forces and 8 regional task forces.
