U.S. Marshals Parental Abduction Investigation Subject of ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ This Month

For immediate release

Brian Fair, Deputy U.S. Marshal

New Orleans Task Force
Eastern District of Louisiana
New Orleans, LA
(504) 589-6872

New Orleans, LA – Since early 2020 the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana New Orleans Task Force, due to its robust Missing Child Unit, has been assisting in the investigation of a 2017 parental kidnapping case, but efforts to locate the mother and her son in several states have been unsuccessful.

In December 2019, a felony warrant was issued via the Kenner, Louisiana, Police Department for Rabia Khalid for kidnapping her son, Abdul "Aziz" Khan, after efforts by Aziz's paternal family to locate him were not successful.

Investigators say they hope the "Unsolved Mysteries" episode on fugitive Rabia Khalid and NCMEC parental abduction victim Abdul "Aziz" Khan, which premiered Nov. 1 on Netflix, will help develop important leads.

Aziz, who will be 12 on Nov. 13, was last known to be with his fugitive mother Rabia Khalid Bourgeois and her husband, Elliot Blake Bourgeois, in the Atlanta area around Thanksgiving 2017.

Rabia and Aziz’s father had been undergoing a custody battle in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, and it is alleged that Rabia was refusing to cooperate with directives from the court. Around Thanksgiving 2017 Rabia and her husband, Elliot, both sold off their vehicles in the Atlanta area and disappeared. Aziz was later listed as missing with the Atlanta Police Department.

The Bourgeoises have not been heard from since.

There is a Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans (GNO) reward, as well as a USMS reward, and Aziz's paternal family has also agreed to put up a sizable reward as well for any information that leads to his recovery. It has been over six years since the father was criminally separated from his son.

Rabia Khalid Bourgeois has ties to Atlanta, Lawrenceville and Duluth, Georgia, as well as the Huntsville, Alabama, area. Her husband, Elliot Blake Bourgeois, 40, is not wanted, but based on USMS interviews in several states with his family and Rabia's family, it is believed he may have valuable information as to where Rabia is hiding with her son.

Information on the whereabouts of Rabia, Aziz and/or Elliot Blake Bourgeois can be directed to USMS Tips or by calling Crimestoppers GNO at (504)822-1111 or the USMS E/LA New Orleans Task Force at (504)589-6872. All tips may remain anonymous.
