Portland/Bangor, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service in Maine is alerting the public of a phone scam involving individuals claiming to be U.S. Marshals or other Federal Officials.

Bangor, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) announce the arrest of Christopher Ratcliff, 36, of Gilmer, Texas.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of Zenn Matthew Vicknair, 50, in Ellsworth, Maine. Vicknair was wanted by the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for Multnomah County for 4 counts of Unlawful Sexual Penetration of a Minor, 4 counts of Sodomy in the first degree, and 6 counts of Sexual Abuse in the first degree.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of Jerry Griffin, 53, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Griffin was wanted by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama as well as the Biddeford Maine Police Department for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force, announces the recovery of a West Virginia juvenile in Portland Maine. The juvenile was reported as a runaway from a foster care home in Hillsboro, West Virginia, in September of 2022.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of Cody Poole, 27 of Sanford, Maine. Poole was being sought by the Sanford, Maine, Police Department on a warrant issued on December 30th, 2022, for Incest and Gross Sexual Assault.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of Dylan Young, 52, of Wiscasset, Maine in Tampa, Florida. Young was wanted by the Wiscasset Police Department on a warrant for Failure to Appear, Aggravated Domestic Violence Assault issued on January 21st, 2022, by the Lincoln County Superior Court.

Portland, ME - The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of John Bastian, 64 of Lynn, MA in Norway, Maine. Bastian was sought by the Massachusetts State Police and Lynn Police Department on a warrant issued on September 2nd, 2022, by the Lynn District Court.

MacLellan was being sought by the Cumberland Police Department out of Rhode Island on a warrant issued by them on March 3rd, 2022, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announce the arrest of Michael A. Flippo, 55, of Lebanon, New Hampshire. Flippo was being sought by the Walkulla County Sheriff's Office out of Florida on a warrant issued by them on March 2nd, 2022, for Possession of Computer Child Pornography.

Portland/Bangor, ME – The U.S. Marshals are alerting the public of a scam involving individuals claiming to be U.S. Marshals. During these calls, scammers attempt to collect money via phone in lieu of having further legal problems. The scammers claim that individuals need to "post bond" or face losing their jobs, custody of their children, or other consequences.

Portland, ME – Snowmobiles and Ice Fisherman were not the only ones out on Embden Pond this morning. A team of federal, state, and local authorities surrounded a residence in Embden, Maine in order to capture a wanted fugitive.

Kittery, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) announces the arrest of Michael Rickett, 26, in Kittery, Maine. Rickett was wanted on a warrant issued by the District of Maine federal court for violating his terms of supervised release.

Smith was being sought by two New England states regarding warrants issued out of the State of Connecticut for Homicide and a warrant issued out of Massachusetts for Strangulation.

Bangor, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF), announces the arrest of Cortez Strong, 25, of Illinois, after a brief foot pursuit. Strong was being sought by Illinois authorities on a warrant issued for Criminal Sexual Assault in February 2020.

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF), announces the arrest of Michael J. Bernard, 26, of Auburn, ME. Bernard was being sought by Michigan authorities for sex crimes involving a victim under the age of 13.
